It's pretty much identical to Instagram, but for knives only. I like it because my Instagram account has tons of pics of my kids which I don't wish to make public, and also I don't wish to share my knife obsession with my friends and family that follow me on Instagram but don't understand my passion/sickness. Worth checking out if you haven't.

I started an account last night, but was not able to search # like I can on IG.
So far that is my only complaint. Anxious to see what it turns into in a week or so.

Yeah it seems pretty slow to load. Hopefully as more people sign up they will improve the app to keep up.

The problem is that whoever is running Bladenation will never have the resources to update it add functionality the way IG does. I think the whole thing is an exercise in futility and an answer to a problem no one really had in the first place.

This.

Bladenation just seems like a step in the wrong direction; us knife nuts should want to be integrated in the rest of the world; not segregate ourselves from it LOL!

I've been enjoying the camaraderie of fellow Knife nut pages on IG so far so I may wait to join for that reason as I don't want another thing to manage.

Yes. But until someone creates a dedicated web site where we can share our knife pictures and chat with other knife nuts about our hobby, that place is all we have! I guess we're stuck with it, warts and all!

While I don't disagree, the reality is that most people I know and interact with think anything that says kershaw on it and is assisted opening is as good as it gets. They don't know or care anything about blade steels or heat treats and don't understand why anyone would shell out more than $50 for a knife. And I live in a very rural, knife friendly area. I see Bladeforums and now Bladenation as places where I can interact with other knife knuts without someone wondering why I would pay $xxxx for a knife.

I opened an account 710cs but it was wierd it kept kicking me off and wouldn't load any info.. maybe there was an overload or something.

I'm there... cmftwknives

So far I'm not a fan. I don't like the search function at all. It should be a grid so you don't have to view every post.
Also, I feel like it's going to end up being the exact same feed as IG and will be totally redundant. If I keep using it then I'm going to unfollow the makers on IG so I don't see everything twice. It's a good idea, but isn't unique enough in my opinion. Time will tell.

I gave it a try but I'm not feeling like making yet to another "social media".
I like to post various stuff, not just knives, so I think I'm going to pass for now.
