Not sure if this is a natural occurence in the steel, or an after effect of the stripping process? One thing I do know is it doesn't want to go away. I have something similar in my 440A blade of my griptilian, and haven't been able to polish it out either. I used the "solarize" function in my camera phone to highlight the marks i am talking about.

I've seen that before. My 2 has it. One of the cold forging operations I'd guess.

It's a sign that you're going to be abducted and probed... start wearing the tinfoil hat!

Don't forget your pasties. Aliens prefer modest humanoids.

it's the folded steel ;)

okay, perhaps not. some kind of dentritic growth? perhaps a lightning strike?

i'm sure Toooj will get back to us on it...

I don't have any good pictures of it, but I have some similar looking surface flaws on my 9. Doesn't change no matter how much I sand on it. Just looks like splotches, but like someone said, I'm pretty sure it's just a layering thing with the manufacturing process. At first after stripping it, it bugged me, like I didn't do something right. But I'm used to it now. It's steel, not silver, so it's going to have what seems like flaws when you look at it, but it's not a flaw, it's just the way it's made.

If it concerns you, just send it to me. You'll feel better as soon as it's gone. ;)
