Bladeshow 2019 - Who to Look Out For?

Hello all,

I will be attending Bladeshow for the first time ever this year. I am of course beyond excited, I may try to make it the first day, but know I will for sure make it for Saturday and Sunday. With that being said, I plan on bringing a decent amount with me to find one nice custom or just something that really jumps out at me (hoping $600 - $1,000). This is a bit of an odd question, but, what makers should I be on the lookout for.

I like knives that have unique but functional blade shapes, unique materials, and overall stand out differently from the rest. I like folders and don't much care for fixed blades. Overly thick and tactical knives don't appeal to me at all. I typically prefer something that is easily EDC-able in the 2.5" - 3.75" range.

I am familiar with the mid/high end production knives: Reate, CRK, CKF, Shirogorov, Koenig, Olamic, and perhaps a few others. What custom makers and/or high-end production makers would you all recommend I look at while there?

Thanks all!

Ohh man.
First time is sensory over load.
Keep your likes in mind and try not to rush a purchase. So many knives to see, and a few days to see em.

Most importantly have fun and meet people. It's a BLAST.
I am so excited to be overloaded and I'm going to do my ABSOLUTE best not to rush and purchase something off the bat. I will absolutely make sure to! Is 2 days enough to see most everything in your opinion?

Totally agree. If I could go to Blade Show I would race to Holt’s booth as soon as my feet crossed the threshhold of the entrance like the crazies after that $30 Black Friday crockpot at Walmart.

Yea you can see pretty much everything in 2 days. But it's still ALOT to take in.
And you will never forget it.
Little sleep.
Lots of drinking
And ABSURD amounts of knife talk.
And a weekend you will never forget.

I'm gonna love it haha. I'm actually taking my dad, I'm the knife nut of the family and so he's just gonna have to listen to me ramble on and on. Gonna try to get him up to speed on all the steel types, companies, locking mechanisms, and so forth before we actually get there.
It's gonna be an absolute blast!

The only thing you should be on a close look out for is your wallet if it survives the attack of the great and ruthless never ending love for knives :)

There's no way my wallet will survive, I need to take cash and one bank card (that is attached to my wife and I's account), that way I CANNOT overspend, lol or else I will!

If you find what you want and the price is okay, I'd get it regardless of which day it is. Knives sell out and sometimes you go back to a maker and they have no stock for sale at all. Then you have to order it.

I can see most everything I want to see in one long day. You get tired and having two days is a good thing in that regard.

I'd say look out for True Saber Knives (Todd Wielinski). Saw he was going to be at the River's Edge Cutlery booth, unleashing some new kitchen knives along with a new EDC fixed blade; if those are in your wheelhouse . He makes a killer product and deserves the bump for sure

Atlanta right?
One of these years :(

Me and a buddy are doing Shot in January.

with your price range, I'd likely head to the olamic table on the first day ; )

report back after the show with what you scored
