What do you guys think about a BladeSports competition that would be centered around folding knives rather than fixed blade choppers?

Would it be boring without the chopping or could it be like the featherweight devision of UFC (fast and nasty)? :p

I am not sure what a typical course would include, but their must be some "tests of skill" that would be exciting to watch on a speed course. -just brainstorming here.

Thoughts?

Any competition involving blades sounds interesting to me. Count me in!

I'm sure that you could do some free hanging rope cutting, as a form of chopping exercise....

Ya, and maybe an inclusive round of "speed box-flattening." I have always liked the straw split test too, but for folders it would have to be something a little harder.

I've been batting this idea around for some time. I spoke to Jens Anso and he said that would be the only way he would participate.

I do see this as part of BladeSport's future, but not for a while. We are still trying to get the sport off the ground. We need more support from the public and sponsorship before we move to a project like this.

respectfully,
Jose Diaz
