We from BladeSports NLD would like to thank Longstrider (Ian - BladeSports UK) for the certification he did last weekend in Holland.

We are happy to announce that our group has grown with 10 new certified members! We owe our growth for a big part to Ian who has been so willing to come over and help us in the certification. Without him no BladeSports NLD.

One of the members is making us a new website that will be online in the coming month. check it out at: www.bladesports.nl

Here are some pics of the new members:

It is great to see Bladesports grow internationally. Welcome to our knife brothers in the Netherlands.

The competition in Atlanta will get better and better...Take care...Ed

I don't need much in the way of thanks for spending a good, fun weekend in good company, enjoying fine hospitality and competition cutting :D

It is always a real pleasure to get over to Holland and meet up with the guys there. It does me good to see a group of such keen and enthusiastic cutters enjoying themselves with the sport in good friendly rivalry.

Like Ed, what I'm looking forward to is seeing a Dutch cutter or two join the field at the World Championship cut at the Blade Show in Atlanta. From what I've seen in the way of progress in Holland, I don't think it will be long before that happens :)

I'd like to point out that Mr. Ed Schempp extended a great deal of effort and persistence to help bring BladeSports to Europe. His modesty being wht it is, most would never know.

Thanx much Ed.

It was indeed a very nice day and very interesting experience! Thanks to Tony, Ed de Pauw etc. For oranising the event. Ian was a great teacher! I still have a lot to learn but am looking forward to doing so. It was a lot of fun!

@Sal&Ed how about and Ed designed Spyderco competition knife? At the moment there is noting really good in the marked.

JD

I would like to second what Sal says about Ed Schempps efforts in this matter. Had Ed not made the effort and the travel to get over to our side of the big pond it would have not been possible for me to become part of BladeSports. His tutelage, friendly help and advice, as well as his time, have been invaluable to me as a cutter and I thank him greatly for this.

Hi JD,

We're looking at something designed and being used by one of Ed's students, Jose Diaz. I'll bring one to the A'Dam meet.

Hi Sal,

I am very happy to hear it! Looking forward to meeting you again and looking over Jose Diaz his design. Do you (or Ed) have more information about him?

JD

as an introduction:
I, along with Donavon Phillips are Spyderco sponsored cutter for BladeSports International. I am also the executive director of BladeSports International and have been participating in the sport for the past 4 years. I am fortunate to have Ed Schempp as an instructor and friend, and was introduced by him to the making and heat treating of knives and tools. I have focused much of my knife making efforts in making the cutting competition knife. I feel honored and fortunate to have Sal, Erik and the Spyderco crew supporting me and the sport of cutting. Lately, I have written a couple articles for Tactical Knives on the subject of cutting competitions. I'm pretty new to the Forum scene, but plan to be more active.

Congratulations! We're hopeful of getting BSI up 'n' running in Oz. Who knows - could even make the Olympics one day!
