I just purchased a bladetech pro hunter in strider green with partial serrations. It should be here any day. Anyone have one of these? Any pro or cons?

My favourite..

I like it better then my Rat Trap, Millie and Para-Millie.. Better ergo's, less bulky in the pocket.. Great knife

I would like to check one out, I got a Spyderco Wegner Jr in a trade, and it is a great little folder. Just for utility/edc, not hunting, I like mine. Except for a different thumb hole, the Bladetech should work great.

Great pics, mrrtn. Have you been carrying the pro hunter long? If so, is it holding up well?

It sure looks like a great knife.
:)

I used to have one and it is a great knife. The ero's are great, the G-10 has just the right amount of grippyness, and it almost dissapears in your pocket when carrying. My only complaint with the knife is that the liner lock can sometimes be difficult to disingage. There is no cutout in the G-10 to help you get at the liner lock, it is a minor problem though, still a great knife.

I've been edc-ing this knife for over 9 months now, and it's perfect for me.
I've had some minor chipping issues, but they are all sharpened away and the edge is holding up fairly good. Lock-up is still flawless and there is still no play whatsoever. The coating is the best I've ever seen and is holding up magnificent. I find this knife tremendous value, and it's the best pocket-carrier I've come across.

My pro hunter has one of the best executed liner locks I have ever seen. Great knife you will love it!

I have been looking at these and the MLEKS for some time now, and this thread just convinced me that I need one (probably the MLEK) now i just have to decide if I want the black or orange scales. Maybe I should get a black one and a trainer and switch the blades so I have a blue one.

I have been using one EDC for a few months now. Best liner lock I have ever used, period. The lock on mine is tough to disengage as well, but I think that's a positive. It passes the spine whack test with flying colors and I have had no problems with edge chipping so far. Put it this way, I often reach for it instead of one of my Sebenzas.

Thanks for the feedback...I received the knife this week. I love it. I'm used to carrying a small buck-strider folding tanto. At first the Pro hunter was a bit large for me. After just one day that changed. It just disappears in your pocket. Its a great knife. Excellent blade grind. The handle equally as good. The green G-10 just sticks to your hand. I'm lookin forward to carrying this one more. Thanks again for the feedback.

Green G10 Pro Hunters are darn rare - I've been trying to buy one and no one has them....

I've got the "lite" model, in orange. It's the lock-back version, though it has the same general shape, I believe. 440c vs s30v... I've been debating the s30v linerlocked version. Didn't blade-tech make the swamp rat "rat traps" or at least, do some of the work for them, for swamp rat?

That's very well possible i guess. All components are exchangeable. Same pivots, same screws, same spacers, same clip, same liner-thickness etc.
But that also goes for my Spyderco Starmate, and that one's marked Golden U.S.A.
All three blades are 10 mm thick and have sunken liners

The screws, spacers and pivot-size also match my CF/BG-42 Military

edit:
btw.. the lite versions are hollow ground, and the pro's flat. The pro's also have slightly larger blades

The coldsteel prolite looks about the same
I've been edc my cs prolite for about 1.5 years & it's been a very good knife !
No problems yet (very tight fit & finish)
