I just bought this knife, and love it. I have not carried it but around the house, and I saw a few needs for this to be the perfect cheap knife for me. First, we will cover the specs.

Blade Thickness .120"
Knife Thickness .476" / .675" at the clip
Blade length 3.50"
Closed Length 4.50"
Open Length 8.00"
Weight 4.0 oz

440C steel
Lockback
FRN handles with G10 molding
reversible tip up carry position

I paid 37.00 out the door for this knife in the blister pack.

I noticed a few things right off the bat that i just couldnt live with, and since the knife was fairly inexpensive, I could afford to play with it. The first issue was that the blade was very sharply cut, on all side. the opening hole would nearly cut you when opening it, as would the sides of the spine, and the serrations on the back of the blade. I remedied this with a quick dremel hit to bevel the edges. Much, much better.

The other issue is that the lock on the back of the knife would very easily be activated with a strong grip, causing the blade to try to close. Definitely bad juju. I took a tip from the Spydie Native, and dished the lock, and cured the issue. I may have actually dished it a bit deep, but I think it will be OK once ht eknife really breaks itself in.

Overall, I am very, very impressed. A very good knife for a very, very good price. I will see how it holds up as a general duty knife in a LEO setting, and report back. I apologize for the poor photos, but I really didnt have time to do them right.

I have one as well and agree with most of what you say except I like the "crisp" edges and don't have any issues with the lock. Other manufacturers should take note of the G10 finished FRN handles.... excellent.

Superb knife you have there friend! Pure function! Wish they made it slightly longer.

I've been carrying one as my LEO duty knife since they came out. It is performing flawlessly. The only real "complaint" I have is the clip. The clip sticks out enough to effect comfort when the knife is in use. It is not terribly bad, but I would prefer a lower profile clip.

Can you guys explain this a little more in depth?
I don't understand just what you mean.
Is the knife handle a combination of G-10 and FRN?

Thanks,
Allen.

It's FRN, but it is textured such that it looks, and pretty much feels, like G-10. No issue with these having the "cheap plastic" feel that some complain about with FRN, given the texturing and the heft provided by the liners.

I took the knfe apart today, and the design and quality of the parts is astounding. I have never handled a knife with htis type of build quality for this little money. 37.00 just bougth me a hell of a knife.

However, this now has me wanting a Spyderco Wegner, an Ocelot, and a BladeTech Professional Hunter.....My wife is gonna kill me.

I really want a Blade Tech Mouse II and a Blade Tech Professional Hunter. I am at a point where I am really into high-end production knives, so I don't have any desire to get the Lite versions- I want the more expensive and "better" versions.

So it sort of makes me mad that the Lite versions are such a freaking good deal and look and feel so much like the higher-end versions.

And I mean that as a compliment to the Lite versions. Nicely done! Especially since the "real" versions are great for the price to begin with.

Yes, the real knives are a great value, and I intedn to get one very soon.

My father had an original Spydie Wegner, and I fell in love with the knife. It w as an incredible cutting tool, and when I found this one, I had to have it. Now Im on the hunt for a Spydie with the ATS34 steel, and one of the high end BladeTechs.

By the way, my dealer got thses from Green River Wholesale, and thats the way they ship them, in the blister packs.

I've got an orange handled one, I paid $50 for mine but it's still worth every penny. I can't get over the total quality you get with this knife for the money. Perfectly centered, perfectly ground blade. Dual steel liners. Very "assertive" lock. Like mrd74, I have no complaints at all about the knife.

I'm thinking about picking one of these up. Where are they made? Seki Japan?

They look kick butt and they look like high quality folders for $50.

So far I've found one place to buy this other than the Blade-Tech site. Anyone else know where you can get them? I don't mean flea bay either. ;)

Nice. I still want to pick up one of those. You did some nice mods that will make it function better for you.

My emails to you keep bouncing back. It is plain edge, black scales and new in its blister pack.
