I'm thinking about buying the little blast cabinet that Harbor Freight sells, and I'm curious if any of you guys have any experience with one.

I know, "you get what you pay for," but I figured that for the limited duty that it would be required to handle, it would work.

I just wonder what you guys think of it, or if you know of a better one that's not way too expensive.

Thanks,
Nick

I have one of the Harbor Freight cabinets in the POS pile in the back of the shop! I didnt like it at all... If you need one, GET the one with a foot control, like they have at Eastwood,MADE IN USA!!!... If you NEED it, might as well buy the best you can get or at least one that will WORK.... Just my humble Opin...

As you said, you get what you pay for...two makers that I know of are TRINCO in Ohio and CYCLONE which (I believe) is an offshore manufactured item (please correct me if I'm wrong) and are recommended for most medium shop work.

I've worked with a TRINCO for the last 12 years and it's now costing more to maintain it than it is to get another one. Parts are easy to get though and prices are not outlandish.

I guess that it kind of depends on what you want to do with the grit blaster...smooth mellow washes with BT12 glass beads or stripping the undersides of Godzilla with BT2 that will work harden a steel bar stock in nothing flat!

If all else fails, hunt down you local vactional high school and beg them to try out some of their cabinets to see which one is best suited for you and your needs.

All the Best
