I have been learning about and collecting knives for about 18 months now and have really been drawn to Benchmade's old school designs.

Just wanted to share my progress to this point and get some of you all to do the same...would love to see your discontinued, old school blades.

All three of these were acquired from great guys here on the forum at very reasonable cost to me and I am extremely grateful to them, also PBCG for taking time to answer all of my questions and helping me learn about the history of Benchmade knives.

Awesome!

Especially the CPM-M4 AFCK. My personal all time favorite. The one you have looks great!

I love the old Benchmades and have had a bunch over the last 10 years.
My knife buying focus changed and I sold most of them to buy other stuff.
Looking back on all my old pics I sure wish I had them all back.:D
I do have 2 Grips and an AFCK left.

The M2 Ritter Grip came out in 2006 and I bought mine on the bay in 2007.
Over the years I've used it fairly hard and it has been a great work knife.
It has had 3 or 4 different sets of scales but recently I got a set of G-10
scales and really like them. Here are a few pics.

^^^^wow^^^
That knife has gone thru many changes!
The two-tone blade looks great.

CNC, your a man after my own heart. Thats right where I was a little over a year in. Fell in love w/ the old stuff, hit me like a ton of bricks. Where I remain aprox 3 yrs in. I like, own and carry some current productions. My loves are the older offerings. 913, 910, 615 are my typical go to. 710 for the first year or so. I will have another very soon. The 80x's are something special. I have two 800's w/ an 805 and 806 on high priority.

I wanted to start a thread of pics, "Now and Then" kinda thing. Showing the evolution/progression of peoples collections/tastes.

This is where I was at about a year in. 585, 950, 890 were my first purchase, walked out w/ all three, same day. My stable looks a little different at present, w/ the addition of 7 or so.

You sir, are a man of great taste. Very nice acquisition on the 806 M4. That one alone is enough to make even some veterans green. Very cool collection . On your way, very well indeed, w/ one Grail down. Welcome to the madness.

A few oldies but goodies:

First production Ascender. The Ascender is hands down best "budget" knife I've ever owned. Still have one of my users left and going strong after all these years.

Special Edition Ascent II. The steel is 440C as confirmed by our own resident Ascent expert jkarp, thanks again for the help Joe!

BM Red line Vex. Great knife for the size. Very strong and stout and excellent ergo's . Another standout from the Red line I think.

Original BM Monochrome. This one has the N690 steel. Stout little knife from back in the day.

I am looking to add a mini ruckus to my BM collection. I wish they would do some more sprint runs of the older models.

That Rukus seems even harder to get than the afck, but yeah it's on my short list along with a few others.
Thanks all for sharing pics, you guys put my collection to shame!

I like that Ascender a lot. It reminds me of my 750 that I had but with a better blade shape which naturally kind reminds me of a Sebenza styled knife.

Its a terzuola design. A little oddball. In that size they still have he pardue 530
