From an online site:

Very RARE Columbia River Knife and Tool(CRKT) prototype knife for Chris Reeve knives. This was supposed to be the cheaper version of the popular Sebenza, but Chris Reeve did not allow it to go into production!! Very few of these were made!!! This is the full sized version with a 3 1/2 inch partially serrated blade and 8 1/2 inches overall. Mint knife with original box and plastic. Fantastic addiction to your Chris Reeve collection!!!!!!!

Listed for $250. Seller has perfect feedback. I am not interested in buying it, but am curious. Did CRK&T ever do a project with CRK???

Yes..I believe if you search it, you will find it on BF :)

Hard to believe but crk did indeed do a colab with crkt. It was a complete failure and crk scrapped the project before it was released to the public. I would say its legit but they are rare.

It's the real deal, as described. What is not said is how the knife was so poorly constructed that CRKT, at Reeve's insistence, never released the knives to the public. A few made their way into salesmen/distributers hands and have trickled out into the aftermarket since. Bottom line is that it was a bad knife for $50, much less $250. But, as always, the market will decide the value.

Not at all like someone offering a BG42 Seb for $850.

Not a fake, but definitely not an "ultra rare must-have" knife as it's listed to be.

Go on youtube and look at JhonWayneColts channel. He has a good video
doing a review of the CRKT "Sebenza."
I would buy it just for the novelty but definitley not at $250.

I spoke to Chris Reeve at the 2011 SHOT show about this, and this narrative is completely confirmed. In fact Chris Reeve referred to it as the 'story' that will never go away. Actually thats putting it nicely. He was actually was much more animated than that. These knives were never supposed to be released to the public and to paraphrase what Mr Reeves said, its at the very least a breach of trust to have them popping up infrequently. For COMPLETE information about this knife see johnwaynecolt45 on youtube review.
