Here is a heavy duty British Army Service -- weighs in at 1.5 pounds, a quarter pound heavier than standard issue. It is a good solid khukuri, good karda and chakma, good scabbard and frog. Problem is small crack in handle. Ten cents worth of epoxy and ten minutes will fix it. Save forty dollars and take the knife for $60 and we will pay shipping and handling.

Call or email if interested.

Gone to Scotland, I think. Should have mentioned that shipping is paid for US and Canadian customers only. International express mail is just a little too expensive to toss in for free.

Khukuri FAQ

Oh man is this a NICE knife! I just got it today when I returned from work and It's beautiful... I can't believe how thick the blade is but I love it

I was too tired to cut anything but paper but it's nice and sharp too! I don't know if you got the money order yet B but I did send it on it's way. I have to admire someone who sends me the knife BEFORE I mail him the check. This is such a nice piece. I'm afraid to whack anything until I fix the handle crack but even the handle is beautiful. I just love the accesory knife and burnisher too they are really well made (despite a crack in one of their handles) and all the blades have that mirror polish (for the moment)

I even liked the Hong Kong bought tourist khukri but THIS is it!

I have to agree. I received my heavy BAS blem (#6) yesterday and except for the crack in the handle, found it to be in very good shape. The frog was very good for a military style frog(benefitting from the better quality of the HI superfrog).

Harry, may I cordially say I hate you? Here I am short of cash and a shipment of blems comes in. Arrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rusty, I know just how you feel -- and don't take it personally, Harry! But, on the bright side, Rusty, we can feel a little better just knowing that sooner or later our time will come. I feel quite certain that there are at least a few more khuks in our respective futures.

As long as kamis work they will make mistakes from time to time so there will always be blems. And, I'm hoping that pretty soon the village kamis will discover where BirGorkha is located and we will start seeing village models again.

Ganga Ram came by for a visit but would not make any khukuris. He only offered advice this time.

We may send a scout to some villages to see what is available and to leave directions so kamis can find us.

Rusty and Steven, you are forgiven.

I can only say that I've had good karma with regard to khukuris lately. I pray that it continues.

Bill says 200 styles,I think there is more but I don't know but sounds like there will be plenty to go around.
