Here is a 17 inch WWII model. The only thing wrong with this knife is the handle has grain lines which may turn into a crack or two. We are not sure and only time will tell but the grain lines are heavy enough that we are concerned about the handle. Other than that the entire rig is very good quality. Take this knife and try it. The handle may hold up fine. If the handle begins to crack epoxy it and it should last a lifetime. Save $50 off regular price and take his rig for $75 and we will pay shipping.

Those kind of hairline cracks can be preempted by filling the crack with regular ( not the gel ) superglue as soon as it appears
