Here is an early model 12 inch (12.5 actually) AK from BirGorkha which weighs in at 1 lb 2 oz. It is a beefy, tough little knife with good hard edge. Finish is not so good and there's a crack in the handle. Karda, chakma, scabbard and frog okay.

If you want to epoxy the handle you can have yourself an ugly little workhorse for $50 -- half price -- and I will pay shipping.

Call or email if interested.

If it is still there. I will save some other soul the agony of HIKV and take it. Besides there is always room for another kukhri.

Very true Matt, there is always room for another khuk.

But with the 12" baby AK and Sirupati the room for one tends to be on or near your body rather than the closet or the trunk. And people don't freak out nearly as much when they see a baby being used. Like Mick Dundee says, "...now *that's* a knife", but it's *only* a knife. An 18" or 20" isn't a knife, it's some kind of destructive device or weapon to those uninitiated. A baby can be passed off as a tool.

Thanks Uncle Bill! As the saying goes - you snooze, you lose! I look at it this way - I'll just appreciate my first HI blade all that much more when I get it!

Next time I stop by I do it very early afternoon... right after checking into a motel for that night, and hitting the local booze superstore for a case or two filled with one bottle of each kind they carry. Mexican, German, Hong Kong, Japanese... and I stay either until Uncle slips and tells me what he has hidden or he snoozes and I get a chance to inventory his stock.

By the way, didn't someone do a statistical analysis of average time of day new khuks got posted about a year ago? Was it you Brian? And got pretty much a random spread from 10 AM to 8 PM?

Guilty as charged, Rusty, and further evidence of too much time on my hands. It's a good thing I work for myself or I could get fired.

Not to split hairs but, as I figured it, the average interval between new khuk posting was 2.111111111 days with 2:50 PM EST being the median time of day for Bill's posts. Actual times ranged from 1:51 PM to 8:14 PM, all EST.

Of course, folks could always e-mail or call Bill to ask what is coming available. That would take some of the fun out of it, though, wouldn't it?

Yeah I guess you are right Brian. Half the fun of getting a blem is knowing that you were the fist to get it. Like a mini sprint race. That is why this forum is so far and above any other forum.

Ah, yes - the blue light special at Kmart.

Sandi, some help here: a few similies so the hubbies can use terms their wives can understand so we don't have to read several "Cathy" ( Guisewitz ) cartoon books? You know, the Macy's sale, the spring white linen sales, son on...

Soon as I hit post on the above and sat waiting for it to load , it hit me!

Uncle Bill's "I don't HAVE a garage" sale!
