Here's a 10/10 Chiruwa AK by Sanu, 16.5 inches long and 2 pounds -- pretty beefy knife. It's perfect except there is a tiny crack -- not even enough for super glue, just a line really, about 1/4 inch long on the slab, right side, at the buttcap. You can see it in the picture.

Karda and chakma fine. Scabbard and frog excellently done in new leather by village sarki.

That tiny line in the handle will save you thirty bucks. We'll deliver this rig to your door for $115. You won't find two pounds of excellent knife anywhere for this price.

Call or email if interested.

Wow, a chance at a UBDOTD. When's the last time I even tried to get one of those??? Sadly, I had to put my new CPU on my credit card and am not ready to take on more debt, besides, I already have an AK, just not a Sanu. :D

Oh man, I was trying to resist, especially after buying an 18" WWII last night but I can't hold out anymore. I'll take it:D

By the way, hello everyone. Nice place you've got here (I've kinda been lurking around for the past week). Got room for another newbie?

Welcome to the Cantina Coal!!!!:D
Looks like you have the HIKV infection well established too. One can never have too many khukuri's!!!!
Not even the rich and powerful John Powell.:p   ;)

Thanks Yvsa and Uncle Bill!:)

You know, you folks need to post a warning about HIKV. That stuff is awfully dang contagious! When I first found the HI website and then this forum I wasn't even thinking about getting another blade (or two or three...) for my collection. I was only mildly curious about Gorkhas and kuks and wanted to do some research. Now It's too late and I've been infected. Oh well:)

Coal I thought the same thing when I 1st came here in May of 99 or soon after. I 1st read all or almost all of the archives both here and at Knifeforums.com before I joined in and was very familiar with HIKV. I just didn't believe I was susceptible to it.:)
I'm now the proud possessor of around thirty pieces of H.I.'s handicrafts with no end in sight although I have slowed down a lot from what I used to do, for quite a while I had one a week coming. Very exciting times they were:D

Now I get off on waiting for my creations in wood to be made in steel and not just for myself, but also for the enjoyment of my friends and family here at the Cantina.
Right now I'm, we're waiting on the Cherokee Rose. :D
It's a Scagel style Southwestern Bowie that I worked on the model for almost a year.
I made the model the same way the knife is made in separate pieces for the blade, guard and handle. The handle was the worst nightmare imaginable as it had to be long enough to balance the blade and yet be usable in either a rearward grasp or up close to the
guard.
I believe I managed the best of all worlds with it, we will have to wait and see.
If it's all I aimed for it to be it should come in around 1 1/2 pounds and be balanced right near the guard either way within a 1/2 inch!!!!!!!:D

Health delayed its finish as well, but now that's looking up so maybe, just maybe there may be some more offerings in wood come along some day. There's a couple or three projects I would like to have in my safe or another one in addition to the one I have already!!!!

I don't think I posted that the model had arrived safely in Nepal and the kamis are getting started on it. PLEASE don't "improve!"
