Hey guys I just got a Kershaw Skyline 1084 fixed off ebay. Its a blem model, having the xxxx on the blade. From what I can tell theres absolutely nothing wrong with the knife. Theres no scratches, the logo looks fine, everythings perfect.
What makes it a blem?

And I think from now on I'm going to start looking for blem models for the price reduction if its only cosmetic.

Kershaws blems are just cosmetic flaws, and not functional issues. At that, many of the blems that they sell are so clean some can't find the flaw at all.

It didn't pass Kershaw's inspection, but it sounds like it passes yours, so congrats on your new Skyline :D

I've purchased two Kershaw blems (from kershawguy.com). On one of them I still have no idea what the blemish was. On the other after VERY careful examination I found a tiny shiny line in the satin blade finish, almost imperceptible, but otherwise nothing. I am quite happy with both of them.

As stated, Kershaw's blems are cosmetic only. However, with the XXXX on the blade, they aren't covered under the Kershaw lifetime warranty, so you are also losing that benefit. On a higher end knife (like the Zero Tolerance models) I would be more likely to pay full price to keep the warranty intact.

I got 2 blem skylines out of a bad deal made right on ebay. A fixed and a folder. I can see anything wrong with either, i think on the folder it has something to do with the grind or the g10, and the fiexed i think its the bead blast of the g10. Its like guessing wheres waldo game you play when bored.
