Blind horse's scandis are spot on good stuff. You won't go wrong there.

I own the Long Trail but its not a scandi ground, it was one of the firsts they put out via e-mail special. Its a FFG with green micarta scales and it is quite the slicer. I'm really likin' BHK and the types of knives and grinds they offer.
The only down side of my LT is the sheath, I just wish it was a little (alot) tighter. The knife has a tendancy to just "fall" out, but the knife itself is a WINNER!

get one now, you wont be sorry ;)

Ive got a friend who does some really nice kydex so the sheath wont be a problem. Thanks for the input, I think its gonna be a go,

please do atleast a quick review if you move forward with it. i have been loving their work from day one, and i think everyone would be interested in seeing your friends kydex work?

i also have a non scandi BHK "Long Trail".. it is by far one of my favorite/most used knives.. i love it..:) i like how the scandi versions look.. i bet they're real sclicers..
BHK is a great company to deal with L.T., Dan and crew are some stand up folks..

I bought one of their Frontier Valley Patch knives in elk shed and got the neck sheath. The knife came very sharp and with a beautiful hollow grind - and very sharp! The scales were very uneven, but I suppose that can be expected with elk shed. I could have sent it back but opted to keep it.

The sheath now..... well, the workmanship is fine, but the fit is as described earlier. Plus, it hangs from the neck at a very odd and dangerous (for loss of knife) angle. This particular knife has no lanyard tube, so fastening it to the sheath isn;t possible. Were I to do it again, I would order the belt or dangler sheath.

Again, I'll say: it came with a very nice, fine, polished v-grind edge. I like it.
