Blind hose knives

Has anyone ever delt with them or own one of thier knives? what do you think about thier knives?

Blind Horse Knives maybe? If so, I have a couple. I have their Small Work Horse model and a Tiger Knapp. The Work Horse models are D2 (same heat treat as Queen knives) and the Tiger Knapp models are made from high carbon saw blades. The Knapp knives are cheap in price $20 or but are a great value. I'll pick a couple more of these up the next time I see them at a show. I really like the Work Horse model. They have a small and large. The handle scales are screwed on and easy to take off to clean or replace. Mine was extremely sharp when purchased and came with a nice leather sheath.

They make a few other models as well but I don't own any yet. They are quality knives......you won't be disappointed.

I just saw these guys at a show. I'd never heard of them before. Their knives were very nice looking, with some very attractive choices in blade finish and handle scales.

Since its my first post I will give you some background on me. Knives I have - Busses, Swamp Rats, TOPs, Fehrman, Benchmades (mini rukus and the like). Sharpeners I use- Edge Pro Apex (oh man I have gone through a few others)

I have talked to them at a few Indy gun and knife shows over the last two years. They always appeared to be really nice guys. We talked about the testing they perform on their knives. They throw them against the wall. Cut cardboard over and over. They chop through 2 by 4s. They were interesting to talk to. Then again we were talking about knives. :)

Well, at the last show I went ahead and got a large work horse and a small work horse each with the extra kydex sheaths. They went ahead and threw in some very nice knife cases for each one. I bought their knives and the extra sheaths to allow horizontal carry. I have carried the small work horse, horizontally, in the back on my belt and it worked well. I have not had the chance to use the knives hard yet (camping) but they have sliced boxes, plastic, cardboard and other things around the house very well (I mostly use the small work horse). The edge appears to be holding up. The knives feel very well in my hand. I have showed them to some people and have received comments about how well they feel in the hand.

Good luck.

I bought a large work horse recently. The blade is a nice shape and the steel quality is good, making for a good little bushcraft and general purpose knife. The handle, in my opinion, is the biggest drawback of the knife as it both uncomfortable to hold and gets very a very slick plasticy feeling when wet.

What handle material? The canvas micarta handles don't get slick at all.

What I mean is that the canvas micarta slabs attached in the vicinity of the knife handle get slippery when wet as they are smooth and have no grooves or texture.

You should give Blind Horse a call.......they have other handle scales you can put on. I have some grippy black canvas micarta. I think they are bead blasted...no problems when wet. The original scales were smooth micarta and did get slick.

Thanks. Another option I might try is to make myself some wood slabs (new ground for me) for the handle. We have lots of birch, maple and alder around this country.

Blindhorse Knives are GTG, picked up two this past weekend in VF and look forward to seeing LT and Dan again this weekend in Indy. They should charge about 50% more.

I just discovered them through a link in the Wilderness section, I am a huge fan of quality - made, inexpensive knives. Since I'm outdoors abusing them all the time and occasionally loosing them, as appose to collecting them or pretending I use them when I'm at the keyboard.

They look VERY solid, the sheaths seem to be great quality too. I'm currently waiting for the small Tiger Knapp to ship to my house, I sprung for the neck-sheath as well so I could have a small, solid fixed blade to hike and fish with right on my neck. I usually use Moras but for 20 bucks I couldn't pass up testing one out.
