anybody have a black paper sar-6?? i was wondering how they look/feel in hand..

i can't believe you'd would be on the fence on that one. thing looks awesome!!

I hope somebody posts a pic for you but I'm saying go for it!

If I hadn't bought an LE I would have gotten a black paper. The black paper wasn't out yet when I placed my last order. As for the SAR 6 in general... they look, feel and perform like the perfection they are. It is THE ONE for the midsize blade. ;)

Tim, you really grabed a good lot of Sar 6 there!
I got one in blk g10 and like it alot...I still have the sfno at the top of my list but the sar 6 will def be stealing some of the sfnos thunder for a mid sized knife use.;)

Got Black Paper and it's awesome. Pretty much like black G10 without the sheen.

Thanks Jeff! The SAR 6 is to me what the SFNO is/was to many others as the ultimate midsized Busse. It's 16 ozs (approximately depending on handles) of not too big or not too small INFI, with a great grip, great balance, all the right curves in all the right places and nothing lacking in overall performance.

Enjoy yours, and if you post up some pics of the Black G10 wet/oiled it should be very similar to what the OP asked for. ;)

Hey Tim can you post a pick of your Sar-6 next to the skinny ash?

Out of the micarta and G10, which makes the knife feel more balanced?

I copied my post from the King is dead thread over to here for you.
I agree with the OP completely on this one. My Skinny ASH has been dethroned. ;)

My all time number one midsize blade (SAR-6) followed by my former number one (Skinny ASH-1 modded to be close to what the SAR-6 already is from the factory).

Spine shot. The SAR-6 at only 1.5 oz heavier is a far superior chopper.

The micarta LE I have weighs 15.4 ozs and the G10 ranges from 16.0-16.4 ozs with the tequila and bruiser being the lightest, pumpkin heaviest. The 16.0 oz ones feel absolutely perfect to me, but it is very hard to feel the difference in them. If you hold the pumpkin and the LE you can tell, but not so much between the rest. It isn't nearly as pronounced with SAR handles because of how thin they are, it would be more noticeable if they were large thick handles like fusion mags.

Thanks Tim. i am debating selling my Skinny Ash to get a Sar-6 in black paper. I was going to send in my Skinny Ash to have the competition finish applies and new handles. I figure if this knife is so superior then I will save the money on the Skinny mods and just sell.

No problem BBQ. You'll love it if you do. You really can't go wrong with any of the handles on a SAR-6. It is an impressive step up from any 5-7" Busse I have held to say the least.
