blocking emails

Some people just don't give up, even after they've been asked - which brings me to this morning's questions.
I'd rather not disable the option of receiving emails from other members, so I'm looking for another option.
Does putting somebody on ignore block them from accessing that function? (I know how it works on the forum itself.) I'm guessing not - and the person's activity here does not concern me, so I don't have a particular desire to hide his posts - but if will eliminate his option of emailing me via the site, I'd probably do it.
I do have the choice of blocking him via my email server; but, since it is a site generated email, I don't know if that would impact my ability to receive such messages from others. My only reason for thinking that it might is because the block option shows up as Block "DonaldDuck - Bladeforums.com". Does anybody know using that option would prevent other members from emailing me via the site?
(I have created a filter to delete all incoming messages from his actual email address - which may/may take out his emails through the site, as well.)

If a person uses the forum's email option, and you block the email address it might only block that specific email. However, since the forum software enables and delivers the email so to speak it might wipe everything out from every one. If you or any one is getting harassed by email, report it or call them out.

Just tell them you're going to call them out on their harassment if they don't stop. If they don't stop name them, and tell what they're doing.
I've had two do that to me from disagreements in the GB&U forum, and both would not stop until I called them out in the thread. Hated to do it, but they wouldn't stop when asked, and it is the only thing that worked.
Good luck.
