The Becker C/U-7 draws first "COMBAT" blood... Well kinda, I used my C/U-7 this past weekend to kill a 200lb wild boar, Will, I used your technique behind the sholder and it worked great! The C/U-7 did its job, the heart was slashed in two, I also used it to start the field dressing, its a little large to do the gutting, but would work if you had to use it... it is a wonderful knife and the best field knife I have ever carried (and I have carried quite a few military and hunting) I wish I had taken my digi-cam... More to come. ;)

At first I thought meant killed a pig in a pen to butcher, then I saw you said wild boar. Exactly how did you do that? There has to be a story here. I have heard of guys hunting wild pig with knives, but usually its a bigger knife than a 7 incher.

Hey Mike,
7" knives are pretty much standard with our little team of "HAWG SEALs" most use the Marine 7" F/U... I have the first and only C/U-7 in the marsh, rignt now anyway...(this will change soon)
We use Pit-Bulls to catch the pigs and that in its self is something to see... after the Pits lock on, we pull the hind legs out from under the pig to get him down, then jump on the back and do the deed... we make a clean cut under the neck or as in this case I slipped the C/U-7 in just behind the sholder and worked it up, down and around in doing this I cut the heart clean in half (luck?) anyway this is the most extreme type of hunting I have ever done and I love it! The C/U-7 works well along side of my Glock-20 10mm. I'll post some pics of my next "COMBAT KILL" with the C/U-7 soon...

Whoa!!!!!!!!! On the pigs back!!Keep clear of those razor tusks :-) Otherwise the size of your family may no longer grow. Sounds.......well.......extreme. :-)

We have a herd of wild boar up here in NH. 125 escaped from Corbin Park, a very private and very, very elite game preserve in Croydon, NH. It is a fenced in area of every kind of sport game you can imagine and it's a "members only" controlled and guided hunt [if you wanna call it a hunt] for everything from Boar, Elk, Caribou, "exotics" to grizzly [Bill Ruger's hang-out]. In 1989, 125 Wild Boar escaped thru the fence and bred like Rabbits. Now most of Sullivan County is loaded with them nasty suckers who love to ruin a nice peaceful deer hunt. Nothing is more "fun" than to be quietly standing on a logging road and having one of these 200 plus pounders come snorting down the road hell-bent on kicking some human-butt. Man, I could not think of using a knife on these beasts. What pigs!![pun intended] Even a .308 does not slow them down unless it's a head shot. I would award you a silver star for taking one with a knife!!! We go out once a year and "hunt" near Corbin Park and usally carry car-15's. now that makes it fun. Did/do you folks ever taste "Boar pork"?........Thanks...........wolf;)

Will,
Please come to my aid, and help explain HAWG hunting South Carolina style (with Pit-Bulls) before I come off sounding like some MACHO A**HOLE, trying to show the size of my brass...

I fully undestand ya brother!!!!! But, trying sitting on a tree-stump looking for a deer and hear snorting, wheel around and see a hair-bag with fangs come running up an old logging road thinking you are after his HAWG-LADY:eek:

Here in NH, we just hunt with two different caliber long arms and a sidearm because we cannot use puppies. Plus our "Boar" are import's that got loose, bred like sheep and have been "spoiled" by sheeple tree-huggers for years. Now we have an "open season", they have no fear of humans, but sure do hate machine gun fire:D :D ;)

recondo, no worries mate. I've read how the English used to hunt
boar the same way .......with a knife. So there is some history of
this type of hunting.

Let's not forget that is we don't have a gun and we need to eat (and
we do) we , as humans, have to figure out how to put bacon on the
table . I'm sure that this was how it was done before guns came
along.

That's what makes a knife more useful than a gun any day.......
You don't have to .......reload it!!! :>))
