Does anyone have a tip to remove blood stains off INFI without using an abrasive. The stains are also all over the Busse Custom Shop insignia and logo. Maybe a fluid or something??
Ian.

Edited to add:
Just in case anyone was wondering, they’re not human.:D :D

I think most of this is for blood in fabric, but you may be able to adapt it to your situation.

=====================================
Fresh Blood:
Cold water or Club Soda. Sponge stain immediately with cold water or club soda and dry with a soft absorbant terry towel. Repeat as necessary.

Dried Blood:

One reader reported that in nursing school they tell students to use peroxide on the blood before washing. She reported it really works. I'd test a small section as it could also have a bleaching effect, but worth a try.

or

Mix one teaspoon of a mild ph balanced detergent (a mild non alkaline non bleaching detergent) with a cup of ice cold water
Blot
Mix one tablespoon of household ammonia with a half cup of ice cold water
Blot
Sponge with clean ice cold water
Blot
Note: Always test an inconspicuous area for colorfastness, etc. before treating the exposed area. Also note that certain stains are permanent

Thanks Rok,
It is dried blood, I generally wash my knives after use, this one escaped me. I’ve tried warm water dishwashing liquid and vigorous rubbing but that hasn’t worked.

Have you tried Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Soda with a little elbow grease? The Hydrogen Peroxide should work on the blood and the Baking Soda would be a mild abrasive to work the stubborn bits loose.

try sticking a leach on the spot, it works on mine. if you don't have any leaches down there then try a vampire bat but be careful that the teeth don't scratch the logo.:(

Ian, I think it is time to show them exactly how big a Fruit(fox)bat is... :)

darkhog, you're a cruel sob, know that??

and to think i was going to let you share a room with one of chucks alter egos:grumpy:

Ian,

Try meat tenderizer dissolved in warm water.

Papaya juice may work also.

Thanks all!
So far I have Hydrogen Peroxide, Baking Soda, leaches, meat tenderiser, Papaya juice, fruit bats and 151 bacardi.
I might just drop the knife into a mixture of all of the above and see what happens.  :D
Ian.

Cripes! throw in a CBL chaser and I bet that sucker will come to life and start dancing on the table!

I would try some wood ash, made into a soft paste with water . Or if that doesn't work, Kangaroo Droppings might:D

Ian,
I can't believe no one has given you the simplest answer to your stained knife problem yet....dispose of it and buy another one ;):p

The only proper Busse disposal site just happens to be located very near me, so just send it over and I'll take care of it ;):D:D
