Glad you still have all your fingers after your mishap. Knowing what my hands look like as a knife lover, and a Mr fix it, and I don't make knives. I have wondered what knife makers hands look like.
Next time save the blood, and put it up for sale on Ebay. Ha! Might be a good money maker, as long as you don't get too pale.
A drop of blood on your knives by the logo with a DNA certificate. You might be able to buy the baby a new pair of shoes.
 
Herbie, that's actually an interesting concept. Being a diabetic, I can squeeze out a drop anytime. Maybe a recessed area on the side of the ricasso opposite the maker's mark, and a drop of blood applied. When dry, apply another drop of some kind of clear sealer to preserve it. In a morbid (maybe not so) sort of way, the customer will actually be buying a piece of yourself!
