Just a quick question perhaps someone cound help me with....

I'm a Spydie collector and have very little outside of Sal's creations, however, I've just received as part of a trade, a Blue Camo Aviator, mint, boxed with all papers.

This is actually, my first Chris Reeve knife and it's actually peaked my interest in other models....:D:thumbup:

Now to the question, the guy I got it off believed it is only one of 25 manufactured like this. Now I'm not doubting him, but can anyone confirm this?

Secondly, the value as part of the trade was less than the cost of a new "ordinary" version, but out of curiosity, what would the value of an example such as this be?

Thanks in anticipation....

Simon.

Hello Simon, congratulations on your first CRK! The Blue-Ice Camo Aviator is an excellent piece to put away in your collection. Yes, many were not made with the Blue-Ice Camo coloring but, there was a lot more then 25 manufactured in that Camo. You can contact CRK directly to see if they may have a more direct estimate on the amount made.
Value wise you have done very well on the trade. One because of the rarity in color (Blue-Ice Camo). Two the trade price for which it was obtained by. Three, the Aviator was recently and sadly announced it will not be manufactured any longer in the new one-piece line up. And fourth CRK has stopped there different color coating process. They are only staying with the standard Blue-Greyish Kelgard Coating.

I believe the picture I posted below shows the knife in question.
Current value ranges from original price to what ever someone is willing to pay for it. With it not being manufactured any longer I would say ....(email me and I will tell you privately). Just in case you may want to trade or sell it in the future.

Once again congratulations on a beautiful piece of cutlery,

Jules

Jules,

Indeed, the pic you posted is like that of my knife.

As for the info, thank you, it was exactly what I was looking for. It seems a shame that the Aviator has been discontinued, I'm certainly tempted to take mine with me the next time I have a trip to the woods!!! However, in light of your comments, perhaps not......!!

Thanks again, I appreciate your response.
