I went to a concert a week or so ago and unfortunately forgot to leave my knife in the vehicle. Walked probably three quarters of a mile to the venue, and when we saw the metal detectors I realized my error. We stepped out of line and looked back towards the car in dread. Then I saw a big concrete barrier painted royal blue... Idea struck me as I was carrying my blue Bugout. We walked over and stashed the knife in a recessed portion in the barrier. It camouflaged perfectly, and we came out of the concert a few hours later with it untouched.

A few other times I've accidentally taken the Bugout to events (because it's always on me and I don't even think about it) but there was not a good option to stash it. In those instances they had us hold our phone/wallet/etc in our hand while we walk through metal detectors. I sandwiched the Bugout in between my phone and my wallet, and it was never questioned. Who knew blue was such a good camo color?!

Anyone else have stories of having to stash a knife before a sporting event or concert?

The last no weapons concert I went to I dumped my pockets before but when we got the gate we never got checked.

It's all on the honour system up here.

A search will show a couple of nice threads on this topic with some very good stories. I put a knife up on a 7' windowsill near the security area at an airport and it was waiting for me when I returned.
