Well I can cross another item off my bucket list, a Chris Reeve Blue Damascus. This one was made in 2001, very cool damascus.

I am SO jealous, blue with envy! :)
It's just stunningly beautiful, thanks for sharing!

Very Very Nice Tom, is that a large? The blue Damascus is so rare that you almost have to be in the right place at the right time to score one of those, Congratulations.

I wish it was a large but it is a small. I wonder if they ever released any in the large size, I have never seen one.

Super score there, congrats!
I do know they made a large blued damascus with turkish twist.

Does anyone have any information on how or what makes the damascus blue? I'm assuming it's a difference in the etching process of the steel.

I do not know what that is, it has a clear coat on the damascus (GunKote I think it is called).

Very nice! I am surprised how long it was listed before you got it. I thought about purchasing it more than once.

The only explanation is that Jay's pictures leave something to be desired. They sent me a closeup of the mosaic and I couldn't help myself.
