Blue Delica question

I know this is a hard question to answer, but I was wondering what y'all think of the blue frn. I've looked at lots of pictures and it seems like I'm seeing different shades of blue. Some look like it's got a touch of green to it (almost aqua blue), and some look like a light blue or royal blue. There are none for me to handle locally, so it's hard for me to tell. I came across a good deal online, but they only have the blue in stock. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I have seen the Delica or Endura in person in the Blue FRN it is more of a baby or sky blue I guess to name it more precisely. It isn't bad looking but didn't really thrill me like the Purple did so I got that.

I owned one for a while, it is more of a sky/aqua blue than royal blue. If it was more royal blue I would probably still own it!

Oooo blue frn, I was thinking of super blue steel. I have been on a search for a delica blue steel forever so I had to check out the post.

I've owned a blue one and it's def not royal or dark blue...more of a light/sky blue like has been mentioned before.

It's a light blue, like others have said. The best pic that really shows the true color is on BladeHQ.

It is about the same color as a Grabber Blue Ford Mustang blue or a Benchmade Mini Griptilian in blue. It is a very nice color...my favorite.

On the standard VG10 Delica the blue is definitely a light blue but a very bright light blue.

Ok so the variation will come down to lighting, colour correction of the image and even your viewer settings.

For a darker blue Delica there is the Kahr arms verison and the Emerson opener version that are more biased to a denim sort of blue.

Had this one on me today!

I like this blue but I would much rather have the blue FRN they used for the first ZDP-189 Delicas.

If it's a good deal it's probably worth jumping on. The Delica is a great knife and I like the blue personally. Worst case you sell it on the exchange or trade it for another color.

New scale color looks nice! FYI for OP, F308gt4's "before" picture accurately shows what color the blue Delica scales actually look like in person.

I'm not a fan of the light blue on the Delica, so I used some Royal Blue Rit Dye to dye the scales a darker shade of blue.

Good job F308, dying it was going to be my suggestion.
That baby blue is well... baby blue.
Looks much better darker.
One could also dye it black.
I wonder if yellow dye would turn the baby blue FRN green?

How long in the dye?

It didn't take very long. Just a few minutes or so. I basically followed the directions from this site:

https://1allspub.wordpress.com/2013/06/04/rit-dyeing-g10-frn-handle-scales/

The site describes dyeing G10, but FRN takes up the dye much faster. I did not take apart the knife, and tied a string to the hole in the blade (knife in open position) to make it easier to retrieve the knife from the pot of boiling dye mixture. I did remove the clip prior to dyeing.

It was very easy to do.

My blue Delica and orange Endura are my usual carry pair when we're up In Vermont. The bright colors and contrasting lanyards make for great homing beacons in our woods and fields up there. I like the blue just fine, and while VG10 is not really a favorite steel, it's easy to re-sharpen and takes a keen edge.

I had some work to do on our tow-behind field and brush mower before working on our small north and south fields and along our frontage.
