Today, I received my Blue Delica, with a plain edge. I find the blue color very attractive, and I've received some favorable comments from the non-knife people around me, especially women. Apart from the redesigened clip attachment and boye dent in the locking bar, it seems that the hollow grind has been taken up a bit furhter on the blade, towards the opening hole. The edge seems to be ground a bit wider as well. This results in the sharpest factory edge I have yet encountered, let alone be able to create one myself. It even surpasses the out of the box sharpness of my Sebenza. I realize that this is mostly subjective, and it is of little meaning as soon as the blade goes dull(er). But resharpening should be easy enough.

I also appreciate the redesigned rim around the clip attachment. Although I have never encountered any turning of the clip or breaking off some of the FRN in that area, the 98 Delica clip always developed some play after a while, not anymore judging from the abuse my similarly designed Delica trainer has suffered.

If the blue Delica’s prove commercially succesfull enough, I would propose to give the FRN Dragonfly a similar, color, treatment: blue, burgundy or dark green perhaps? Besides color, I feel that non-knife enthousiasts are also attracted to (even) smaller sized knives. With the (again, even) lower cost of the smaller knives, they would make excellent presents.

Blue Delica, great knife, great looks.

Cheers,

Wouter

I agree. I love the particular shade of blue, and I'd buy anything that Spyderco makes with it. And this is coming from someone who vowed, "no more FRN for me." Well, no more black FRN for me...
