No, very easy. Took it apart and cooked it for just over 10 minutes in Rit royal blue powder, 2 cups of water and 2 cups of vinegar.

Looks good. Whats the longevity of the dye? Does it wear off?

Not sure, this is my first dye job. We'll see over time I guess.

Making me want a white/gray/black didgy. Looks good man. Rit should stick pretty deep into that G10, I haven't seen many photos of "worn" dye jobs.

Did the rit dye strain the pot you used? My wife would not be happy if it did.

So, the pot....there was definitely residual dye there. Scratches at the bottom of the pot are now blue. It took a bunch of soaking and scrubbing to get it to a point where rubbing a paper towel on it doesn't result in a blue paper towel. I even boiled some soapy water in it to try and clean it up.

I think it may eventually be fine, but I certainly suggest using a crappy pot if staining will be an issue. I may grab a junker at a yard sale or something for future dye jobs.

I got digicam scales for my PM2 to do exactly this dye job... Just haven't gotten around to it yet.
