I have the PM2 and someone wants to trade me a royal blue Manix 2.

I'm seriously considering it but I've never had a Manix.

If you can get it in good condition... I would in a heartbeat. I love the Manix 2, but the Blue one has always been hard to find and high priced when they do show up on the secondary market. Good luck.

The blue G10 Manix, in new condition with box, etc., sells for maybe $220 or more. As a collector or reseller, you'll have to decide if its worth your Brown PM2. As a user, I would definitely get one of the cheaper Manixes. I think the tan Manix with M4 steel is still available at retail, for example, in the maybe $140 range (?), or even a regular entry level Manix 2 to save yourself some big bucks.

And make sure you are talking about the blue G10 Manix, not the lightweight clear/blue Manix that sell for $70 or whatever. Big difference.

But a blue G10 Manix 2, if new with box and paper, is probably a fair trade for a similar brown PM2. In fact, you would probably be getting the better end of the deal, at least in terms of street value. But if you want to use that blue Manix, you would be better of just using a less expensive but comparable Manix.

Just my view of the world, which is not worth all that much. :)

It is not the translucent blue Manix.

I'm trying to get better pics of the Manix and to see if he has the box and papers.

To be honest, I think I would leverage the Manix into trading for a better/nicer/more rare PM2 haha

That is a good trade for you. Pull the trigger beore he changes his mind!

I bought one of these blue G10 Manixes new for about $120, and then soon sold it for what I paid for it. That was the dumbest thing I have ever done in knifedom (other than stabbing or cutting myself requiring stitches). Now I'm not willing to drop big bucks for one, so I guess I'll never have one.

Now he is waffling and saying he might want cash to 'bride the gap'.

Oh well, I'll see how it goes. I might be willing to throw in a $20 with it but no more.

It would still be a good deal. The Brown Para 2 can still be found and will probably not increase in value until they stop production. Like noodle said, you could get the Blue Manix 2, flip it for a nice profit, buy an S35VN Para 2, also buy a new entry level Manix 2. This would be only if you wanted a user Manix and not a collector.
