For a client who bought one of my earliest efforts, and has come back for more through the years, here's another...

6 1/4 inch, Explosion-wrapped Turkish Twist Damascus dagger blade.

Twist Damascus collar and flared guard.

Micro-fileworked stainless accent spacers, three-piece frame, domed, faceted stainless pins.

Blue-Green Mammoth Ivory handle scales.

As always, soon to be re-photographed and posted with Paul Long fancy custom sheath.

P.S. Just a hint of P.Long goodness already...and here's a couple shots of Paul Long's Sharkskin/Lizard Sheath...

The whole knife is amazing of course, but my favorite part is that explosion wrapped damascus. So nice.
Are you using just the LG for that, or a press too?

Salem,

Almost equal work on LG power hammer, Uncle Al hydraulic press, and hand hammer on anvil for tip.

Another spectacular knife, John. You demonstrate amazing control over your Damascus patterns, and the results are sublime. But I'm especially drawn to that guard. Beautiful form, lovely patterning. Truly a superb piece all around

my eyes actually popped wide open when I scrolled down and saw the first pic. Like this  WOW!!!!!!!!

John,

That is a great looking knife, super steel and nice Ivory.

Love it John! Can't wait to see the glamor shots and wrapped in Paul's work.

PS: Got the same book on my coffee table.
