If you can resist this, you have much better self control than I do. I just want to put it in my pocket, go somewhere and start carving with it.

Thanks for looking.

Keep Care,

Pappy

I don't see a price listed.

Are your folders sole authorship? Just wondering how much of your folders are manufactured and how much is done by hand?

I do enjoy checking out the scales on your folders. Nicely done!

I put the price in,...............duh.............
Thanks for letting me know.

As to sole authorship, no. I aim to make near custom quality knives, not custom knives. There are many good custom makers out there. They are some really good guys. My objective is to offer a different product that is "handmade" as opposed to custom, or sole authorship.

Now, many custom makers' knives are not sole authorship either. For many, it is just not possible for alot of reasons.

For me, I have the basic parts wire edm'd for me. We grind the blades here and a good friend of mine does the heat treat. Then all the hand-work begins. We perpetually lap parts instead of deburring. I want them flat flat flat flat flat! Each set of scales I personally hand-cut and match to get the best match possible. Then they are assembled by me, and two other guys that work with me. They do the basic hafting and I do the finish work.

Then I to the final cleaning, polishing and add the lanyards, etc. to make the finished knife. So, you can see that these are not "production" knives. But they are not custom either.

They are limited edition, "handmades." We only make a set number of each one. Not more than 100 in most cases.

So, our prices are more than productions knives, and less than custom, and MUCH less than sole authorship knives. But the quality is near that of a custom knife. It's a hybrid method of manufacture. As far as I know, I am the only one attempting this right now with the slip joints. William Henry does this, but with a different style product. I do traditional slippies. My favorite!

I hope this explanation helps some. I want my knives to be amazing quality with amazing handle materials, at less-than-custom prices. I want to fit right in the middle between the production companies and the custom guys (and girls)

Have any other questions, please feel free to ask. I'll do my best to answer at least semi-intelligently.

Keep Care,

pappy

pappy , can you show a pict of you attach the lanyard ? I have always been meaning to ask.

Really impressive work... time for me to start saving !!

Thank you very much for that explanation. I figured if I was wondering about your process, then others might as well. Its nice to know what you're buying up front, and I appreciate your honesty. Your company definitely fulfills a specific gap in the market.

Did I mention that your scales are amazing ;)

Good luck on the sale.
