Can somebody recommend a brand of jeans that last longer than Levis and cost less? The quality of Levi jeans does not seem to be as high as it once was, though the price keeps rising.

i've switched from Levi's 501's to Wranglers. They are pretty cheap at Walmart and fit just right. Not sure if they last longer though.

I wear Carhartt Logger Jeans, with the double knee, those last longer than Levis, AND....

Harley Davidson Jeans. They last a long, long time, and the quality is better than Levi's. They come in blue and black. Two different cuts, classic, and relaxed. Relaxed is for you if you are, well... fat.

However, I will share a little secret. If you call Levi's customer service and tell them that the __ number of jeans that you own are not meeting your expectations, then they will replace them at no cost. At least that is what they did for me about 6 years ago. Try not to abuse the system, if you spilled acid on your jeans, throw them out. :D

Best Regards,

Another vote for Wrangler and Carhart jeans.

I have refused to buy the Levi stuff since they gave a pile of cash to the million moron march. Also, they have no American factories left.

My vote is for Dickies carpenter jeans and Carhart work jeans. I have several pairs of each that have held up for over 2 years with regular hard use wear. For the money you can't beat the Dickies. $16.97 at Wal-Mart compared to $30 for the Carharts.

Wrangler Cowboy Cut without a doubt the best IMO and my favorite. That's all I wear. Second would be Carhartt. Levis.... :barf:

Interesting suggestions; thanks. Furthermore, I too am dismayed at Levis closing all their U.S. factories, which is another reason I do not want to purchase their clothing anymore.

Actually, as I understand it Levi's doesn't even make any jeans or own factories that make jeans anymore. They purchase jeans from china and brand them. Very disappointing. Carhart jeans are excellent and available in a variety of cuts and weights. They will outlast any standard jean.

Well, I usually buy whatever is cheapest, but I have a couple pair of Levis that I have taken care of, my other jeans are el crappos from Wally World. Once the holes get big enough in my jeans, I cut them up for rags and throw them in the back of my truck.

Good point!!! I didn't know about that one.
That's the same reason I don't drink Coors beer, buy shoes from Foot Locker and a few others I can't think of right now.

I've found they do seem to last a little longer.

Also found they have deeper pockets. I've abandonded Levi's. To expencive for too little quality.

I'm dedicated to Carhartt myself, best dungarees for the money, imo.

I've tried on Arborwear pants and they are pretty beefy and the price isn't too bad ($55.00) for what you get. REI carries them. My only gripe about the pants was that they tapered too much at the bottom of the leg. Now that I'm used to the stovepipe leg bottoms of Carhartt pants, it's hard to get used to the pegged pants.
