Blue khukuris?

Here's a bizarre question for everyone: have khukuris ever been made that had one or more of their visible components (scabbard leather, handle materials, finish, inlay, fittings, whatever) in some sort of blue color?

Here's the deal: I'm trying to talk my Mom into getting a khuk as a gift for her boyfriend (my de facto stepfather), when he retires in a few months. He and Mom operate a company called Blue Panther Traders (Indian art, etc.), so when the Biralo/cat's-head knives came around, we considered them. as an option.

I think that a "Blue Panther" khukuri of some kind, whether in the form of some blue decorations (enamel, engraving, etc.) or materials (blue scabbard?) would be ideal. "You can't always get what you want," as they say, but I won't know if I don't ask.

Some of the very ornate silver/nickle silver scabbards have a blue felt behind the metal contrasting it. I actually have a 2 or 3 like that. very fancy and pretty. The Sargent did them.

Maybe if you sent the kami's, via Aunty, some blue felt/velvet, they may be able to incorporate that into a scabbard/frog?

I could send them anything from blue felt, to blue silk, to blue JEANS, if they'll work with it! But I have to ask if it's OK first.

Nicholas I'd just about bet you could get a scabbard covered in blue leather if you were willing to wait on it, much more durable than any cloth as you well know.;)
Then when you receive the knife you could be ready with a bottle of cold blue. I use acetone to clean the grease or oil off of the blade and then wash well with Dawn dish soap and hot water....
A hot or very warm blade takes the bluing better IMHO. A few minutes under our hot water tap gets it plenty hot enough.;) :D
