Hi guys,

Some of my pocket clips are just a teensy bit too flexible for my taste and I wanted to put a little blue 242 on the screws just as a bit of extra immobile insurance. However I wanted to check if it is safe in the sense that I can still remove the clip later if necessary without damaging it or the screws... Also, the package doesn't seem to come with any sort of tool to get the top open and it looks from the package like "krazy glue" in that you need to pierce the top of it to actually open it, etc.

Kind of a lame question but just want to make sure before I put it on some good clips/knives. I know loctite is used plenty around here, I've just never added it myself.

I've always heard blue works fine, and if you can find it purple will work too, but it's not as strong as blue (don't believe you can find the purple loctite just anywhere seeing as the company considers it industrial, but my dad was an elevator mechanic so we had some layin' around)

Blue Loctite works really well for knife screws. All of the ones I've seen have a screw type white cap.

Yes blue loctite is fine. You can also use clear nail polish if your wife has some around the house. It works just as well in my experience.

I use 242 on lots of stuff. Holds great yet comes off fairly easily. You do need to cut or puncture the end of the little tube to get it going. You can push down into it with a safety pin or just snip a tiny bit off the end with your knife blade.

I like the Suzuki 1360 medium strength thread lock. Not as messy as loctite. Sets faster.
