Yay I finally got my gunmetal, super sexay blue Lum Chinese from New Graham Knives (great service by the way) and I love it!

But... for all you Lum Chinese owners out there is it normal for the liner to just barely engage the tang? Because the liner is pretty close to edge of the tang, I tried applying a little pressure on the spine and it felt solid, like it wouldn't close on my fingers, but I was just wondering if this was normal

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance

It just needs a little break in. Open and close it repeatedly (sometimes with some real force) and the liner will settle into the tang more.

Hope that helps.

Oh, and BTW, I fully agree about New Graham's service. I got my Lum Chinese from Mike also: great guy!

Mine came in today also and the liner doesn't go over very far. I am going to play with it tomorrow. I am sure it will work itself into place pretty quickly :D Very nice looking knife!

Hey guys-

Got mine yesterday. Love this thing!

The liner on mine locks up flush with the left side of the tang. As mentioned, I bet a bit of opening and closing while watching the TV will work it in a little more.

Anyone else get that little band-aid holder from New Graham? "You're gonna need 'em" too funny...

Yea, the band-aid holder is great! I almost threw mine out with the box when I got my Temperances because I was too preoccupied with my new knives :D I noticed it and laughed out loud. I make sure to keep it near by!

Consider the 'fresh' lockup to the far left side of the tang a blessing, it's an indication that the life of the lock is brand new and has a long way to go before it reaches the other side.

Also, unlike other linerlock manufacturers, certain Spydercos(like the Lums) have eccentric pivots which allows you to adjust the liner position on the tang to your preference(it's advised Spyderco does this for you, but it can be done by pretty much anyone), extending the life of this linerlock far beyond that of other companies.

You guys got we to look at my Lum's. The blue locks up solid with the left sides of the lock and blade flush for a full engagement. The green is about the width of the lock into the blade. Still a long way to go.

The band-aid box is a great advertisement for New Graham.

Thanx for all ur input, glad to see my knife is "normal," and that Band-Aid thingie is awesome... hehe
