Blue Para2 Sprint Run - actual color sample?

I know it's not out yet, but they've got to be building them soon.
Has anyone seen the actual G10 which they'll be using on the BBS M390 Blue Para-Military 2?
I've had mine on order since August, and am just getting antsy.
Would love to see how the color turned out in final practice - or prototype!

Pictures of proto knives don't get seen much around here, photos are not allowed for many reasons. I would guess the blue is the same as the blue Manix2 and/or the others.

And to make matters a little worse (sorry), the past two Spyderco knives that used blue G10 were different (IMO, but YMMV, very different) shades of medium-dark blue.

I've seen the Manix2, where the production was quite a bit darker than the "stock" photos. (I prefer the dark, and am still hopeful.)
Is the other the Sage3? Or was there another that I missed somewhere? The scales on the Sage3 look seriously light-n-bright, to me.

I seem to recall Sal saying the blue will be the same as the Sage 3. I'll see if a search can dig it up.
 
Not a fan of that blue on the Sage 3. A dark blue I could do, but a bright blue...idk?? :thumbdn:

My thoughts exactly. However, for a PM2 in M390 I'd take it in fuchsia with puce polka-dots. Maybe. Anyway, I think I can live with whatever Sal and the Box guys pick out. I'm just so anxious to get it, I can't help thinking about it, and want to see it. Now. Plus, I want to see what matches it better - the 4Sevens Preon2 blue, or the SolarForce L2P HA-III blue (which is much darker in person than it looks on the website.)
Guess I'll have to keep dreaming for now.

As a matter of fact, you are correct. I just got a reply back from BBS and they said it's gonna be the same as the Blue Manix 2.
 
I was thinking of the Manix2 and the Sage3. RD's list is more inclusive but the Yojimbo and Dodo are older. I far prefer the slightly darker blue of the Manix2 to the lighter blue of the Sage3, but at the end of the day, it's all about the blade. :thumbup:

I'm not a fan of the Cookie Monster blue used by Spyderco. I picked up a Sage III mainly because I am intrigued by the series and want to have one of each in my collection. It's just not a good user for me. The color doesn't make the knife look dangerous to the sheeple but it does draw attention.

I would love to see Spyderco develop navy blue G10. I have yet to see that anywhere.
 
Dye it,the stuff works-just pick a dark blue dye or even black ,that's what I'm going to do with one of the P2's I get.I previously did this with a 20cp looked awesome(looked like a dark ash color) ,except I had oiled the blade earlier in the week and I must have spilled a drop that the dye didn't fully penetrate,left a dark gray dot . sorry no pics,

Does anybody have both a Blue G-10 Manix2, and a blue 4sevens Preon (1 or 2)? Could you take a picture of them side-by-side? Lighting is so different from photo to photo, it's hard to compare them if they aren't taken under identical conditions.
(I doubt anybody has the blue Manix2 and blue L2P, but if you're out there, a shot would be great.)

Guess I gotta preorder one of these to go with my preordered M390 Military:/
 
I've never owned a Military so getting that one as my first will be something special. I was at NGK and didn't even ask to handle one. Silly me.

I saw the dealer that is doing the P2 actually had some CF P2s on their site. Pretty pricey but I'm sure someone is still looking for one.

I have a blue manix 2 but not a l2p, i have an ld10 ? is that of any use to you?
