The notch in the blade allows finger placement for extra control (forefinger or thumb), and use of the knife to "scissor" through rope (bottom left pic).

Nice...And I see that it has the reverseable pocket-clip for us "lefties".:).

Carlos: what's that number on the blade for? It reads like 135V or 136V or something like that.

135 is my collector's club #. The V indicates a variant model, in this case a variant of the discontinued large Rescue.

Very nice, Carlos, thanks for the pics.

I can see how both the "thumb on spine" and "index finger on spine" grips that you have shown would be improved by the notch. I've tried those grips on my large plain edge Rescue, and they are good for detail work.

I'm not sure that I understand the scissoring though. I guess maybe for one squeeze to cut through a line or cord it would work, but I can't see it being very useful on fabric or anything flat. The spring is so strong that you wouldn't get much scissoring action, and the handle is not going to hold the material in position to cut.

Nice design on this variant. I like the plain-tip for detail-cuts, with the remaining edge full of teeth. Best of both worlds. Great color for the handle...hope to see it on some other Spydies yet to be released!

This would be a very good user for everyday farm work.
I'll have to get one.

VERY nice!!!!!!

I'm going to just HAVE to pick one up, I guess. ;)

Thanks for the pictures. I think I am going to have to order two. One for my collection and one for my truck.

is the large rescue discontinued now ? shyt I wanted a blue handeled one and was just talking to my dealer about ordering me on large and one small blue handeled rescue :(

I am going to go cry.... although I also ordered a Civilian off him today so thats a joyess moment :)

The old black and orange handled large Rescues are discontinued. The large Blue Rescue pictured is a new model just released.

There is no blue Rescue Jr. - the orange and blacks ones are still in production.

Different pics on the web of this model present the color in a range of blues, from "bright" to somewhat muted, as these pictures are.

Can any compare the actual color to something standard, say normal denim (not the sytlish faded stuff), or cop-uniform blue?
