Blue S90V Military blade swap... is it possible?

Forgive me if this has already been discussed... I didn't see it anywhere.

The Blue S90V Military is the only Military that has the newer stepped pivot. Do any of you know if the blade itself... tolerances, lockface, detent, etc. are the same on the tang, making a blade swap with another Military possible? I'm just curious because I'd like to know if I can do a blade swap with a Ti Military at some point. This is the only Military I have, so I'm not sure if it will work. Any info on this would be helpful, pictures would be even better.

Thanks in advance!
Aaron

If I recall, the pin is a different size. I tried it and wasn't successful. It's been a little while, but I think that was why.

Just guessing here, but if that is the case it seems as though one could be made to work with the other but not the other way around. You can always make a hole bigger. Might be more complicated than that though.

Indeed, you could easily make the hole bigger. Doing that though, you couldn't ever go back to the original blue handled version. I tried to convert my Ti Millie to a Ti w/S90V. I remember it not working.

there's one at ebay worth around $522. it's a fluted titanium military with gold anodized screws and an s90v blade from a blue bento box millie. if it's genuine and it works, i'd buy it. it's the closest thing to being my grail spydey (the only thing lacking is the mirror polish on the blade.)

No, you could not easily make the hole bigger. This is very hard steel. You're going to need some special tooling and the chances of winding up with a less than perfectly round hole when you're done are not trivial.

Thanks for all of the info. That's a bummer... but, no big deal, really. I don't have the tools to pull off a mod like that especially with S90V. I wouldn't want to risk screwing something up. I guess I'll just keep using the blue one like it is. I love the knife, and the S90V is amazing. I bought it for the S90V alone, and wasn't really crazy about the blue. Maybe I'll just get some custom scales made by Cuscadi, or someone else, and pick up a regular Ti Millie, too. This gives me an excuse to have both! Time to start saving.

You could always dye them as well.
