Need some help looking for some blue knives. Girlfriend wants a knife for her birthday. My obvious first choice was a delica but she doesn't care for lock backs. My next choice was the sprint Persistence, but I'd much rather get her something with a little nicer steel. Trying to keep it in the less than $100 range. Help me out guys.

I think I'd still try to teach her the virtues of a back lock and show her how easy it is to close with one hand. Blue Delica would be perfect IMO. If she still doesn't want a back lock I think your choices are to look for one of the Blue Sage 3s, blue Domino, or consider a dark blue Manix 2 LW.

EDIT, sorry I just noticed your $100 price limit.

I think the blue Tenacious line can still be had. Great knives, good color and inexpensive.

I'd probably avoid the Manix 2 LW. My wife had a lot of trouble using the ball bearing lock.

Edit: The UKPK came in blue. It's discontinued, but can be found still.

The Tenacious uses the same steel as the Persistence. Personally, I think the blue Persistence is a great choice regardless of the grade of steel.

I agree on the Manix 2. The lock might be troublesome and the knife is a bit on the large side.

Blue Domino but it'll cost you more then $100.

I would love to get her something nicer, but that one has been on my wish list for a long time so I couldn't do that to myself lol

I think the Sage 1 and the 3" Cali if you can find one are good knives for a girl that wants a good knife, but neither one is blue.

If you can find a Domino on the secondary, I have a blue twill scale that I would send you for free brother.
I have seen them as low as $120 on the Exchange. She would LOVE you forever!! One of Spydie's best.....IMO of course!!
Good luck!!

I will second the Lightweight Manix. I like it a lot. Its very blue, light, nice big blade, but not too big, and easy to open. My wife likes mine a lot, but does have a hard time with releasing the lock.

under 100. going to be hard to find with the better steel above S30V!but nothing bad about lock backs, and i would try to talk her into one.;)

I have both a Persistence (in blue) and a Tenacious (not in blue) and have no issues with 8CR13MOV for a daily use knife steel. I also have a Manix 2 LW and think it is a great knife. It is a bigger knife so you need to decide the size of the knife she wants to carry.

One thing I didn't throw in there. She wants something on the smaller scale. My regular carry knives, Manix, Para 2, and Stretch, are all too big for her.

The blue nishjin spyderco Spin can be had for under 100 right now.

^ The little blue Nishijin Crickets are pretty nice too. They are pretty small though.

This is the first knife I thought of when the OP asked for a blue Spyderco, the Lava is an ergonomic masterpiece and the sub-2" blade is legal in more places than any other useable knife. It's a small knife, but the handle allows for an extremely secure and controlled grip.
