It was a black Stretch...Ridgeway Blue Cerakote on the FRN scales and back spacer and now it is one of a kind! :)

How were you able to get it that color? I always figured RIT dye was useless on the black handles. Not sure what you used though. Looks good.

Cerakote....a ceramic firearms finish

I have not seen any in that color....got any links or pics?

Ah, I thought Ridgeway Blue Cerakote was simply the color.

Here is a picture courtesy of HistoricalMan, came in ZDP198:

Can you tell us the process used to coat it?

Hey J, looks good man:thumbup:, i gotta figure out something i want done and send it to ya..... Awsome work buddy:D.

I do Duracoat work as well....... the process is the same minus the baking part for Cerakote......degrease, media blast, blow off, apply material and cure.

Thanks all!! :)

I'm impressed you got it into all the little nooks and crannies on the handle, looks really sharp!

I'm a professional man!! LOL Plus a bit of a perfectionist! I won't send anything out of my shop I would not be happy to have.

Nice work! How durable is the Cerakote finish? I was under the impression that most finishes wouldn't adhere well to materials like fiberglass reinforced nylon?

It is pretty durable....with proper surface prep it will go on about anything....as long as it is not really flexible....like the clicky on a light.
