Sometime back, before even I tried blue, I remember someone here in passing mentioning a means to revitalize blue zirconia belts. I am using 60 grit blue and am not getting the life I think I should from them. Now I grind more than just steel, such things as ivory or bone and such, and I unload them with rubber. They still feel course when they no longer cut steel well but just don't cut. It seems like this fellow was using a carbide tool or something of that nature but I can not remember well enough about it. whoever it was, I hope you see this. I can't even get two knives out of my blue and I have tried running them fast and slow. (P.S., they cut like hell though when they work.)

Thanks.

I remember that also Roger. I know for a fact that you can take a piece of carbide and run it across ceramic belts to expose the grains that are coated with metal. I have a bunch of ceramic belts that I was really disapointed in. I took Kit's advice and ran a piece of carbide across them and it really makes a differance.
