Nice! I've gotta try that on one of mine. I think my BAS might look good blued. It would really make the brass inlay in the sword of Shiva stand out. Good to see you posting, Sweet; I haven't noticed you around the HI forum lately.

Hey Josh, if you do a BAS with a brass inlay then the brass will turn black, dont know how that would look...I just snatch up another AK today that has brass so I will blue it when it gets in and I'll try not to blacken the bolster with the bluing...I was goofen with cold browning a blade tonight and did not like how it turned out pinkish so I cleaned it back up and noticed the temperline came right out I'll post a pic of that when I get an o.k pic...sure beat doing the PCH route...just been lurkin

Hey Sweet, That's sweet! :D

I may try that on my 12" Villager...which bluing solution did you use?

Hmmm.... that's not really the look I'm going after. I wonder if you could cover the brass with something that would resist the blueing solution. I'll have to look into that, because I really like the look of the blued blade.

I think fingernail polish over the brass would resist the bluing and be easily removed afterward. :)

I used Birchwood Casey Super Blue aka Liquid Gun Blue...forgot how many X's I applied maybe 4 or 5...real easy to do
