I am thinking about getting another Izula 2, stripping the coating, and bluing the blade. Do you guys think thats a good idea? I've seen some knives on BF that have the gun blued finish and they look great, but idk how its handles use or if it would just be better to keep the coating on. The izula 2 is my favorite knife and i want to pimp one out haha. If yall could leave feed back on bluing blades and maybe leave some pictures that would be great!

Never done it, but I'd say if you want to pimp, get out there and pimp :D then let us know how it goes

There're a few how-tos out there already. It shouldn't be difficult at all, but make sure to do your research, especially if you ever plan to use the knife on food.

I wouldn't expect gun bluing to hold up all that long on a blade. It's not very abrasion resistant. On a side note, I cold blued an old carbon Schrade Sharpfinger years ago. Finish came out better than I expected. Unfortunately, I used it a few weeks later on a cottontail and the blood did a real number on it. Wherever it went the finish was taken off. It ended up just looking like a really funky patina, so I left it.

The good thing about cold blueing is that it's easy to touch up. I've thought about trying a plumb brown finish on a Bowie blade.
