Yes, folks, more boring pics of knives...
Imagine how many more I will take if and when my camera arrives...
As always, stop and click the pics for bigger kicks...

First up:
Let me introduce the Blued Brothers:

Not only are they blued, but also tattoed!!! (Note the subtle differences in the crests...??? Ron???)

Incidentally, the folding Team Leader outweighs the fixed Bowie by over 2.5 oz... (about 14.7 oz...):D

Here are SOG's #
S1,S2,S3, and S4... The Tigershark is S5, and I will have one...

All of a sudden my Tomcat seems small ...

Serge, please post some pics, so it's not just me...
:o

Ron, How about a SOG Calendar [contest]:D ???

Hi Bobby, 'smee again. :D I got a question for you, about the Tomcat. Did you have it chromed, then Boron Carbided? Or was that just the BC? I had heard that BC doesn't cover cosmetic flaws very well, and the blade of my BM42 is definitely flawed (from all the dropping after I cut myself). It has a satin finish blade, but there are numerous small scratches and rub marks--and I'd just as soon not see them. To chrome or not to chrome...that is the question. :)

Sorry for derailing another of your topics--thanks. Awesome pictures.

I'm not that worried about your de-railing all my threads:) .
I do answer (most of) my e-mail.
I actually had the Tomcat polished first, then BC coated. That gives it a better (IMHO) look, almost like bluing or black chrome.
To improve your blade appearance, you may want to stop cutting yourself, and dropping the blades. Doing it in the other order can be painful as well, as certain other BF members can attest to... :D

Hey Draxil,

I'm sure this is common knowledge, but the thing about BC or TiNi (or other) is that they take on a character of their own depending on what they're applied to.

On our Recondo, we want a dull finish, so we have the blade bead blasted first, then have the TiNi applied. The result is a very non-reflective, dull black finish.

On our X-42 AutoClip, we have a glossy black finish by applying the TiNi to a satin finished blade.

In the case of Rob's Tomcat, he had the blade and bolsters highly polished and then had the BC applied. The result is an impressive glossy luster.

Regarding imperfections, it is likely that they will show, for the coating is very thin. If you are sincere about having a knife coated, I'd suggest doing it on a new knife (rather than a "well loved one").

And regarding derailing Rob's threads, don't worry, I do it all the time! :D

Thanks Rob&Ron! I'll probably just have it BC coated, as I can't afford a new knife and I'm having too much fun cutting myself. :) I probably made the knife sound worse than it is; I do most of the swinging, flipping, etc., over carpet--the main marks on the blade are little scuff and rub marks where it seems to make contact with the handle. I'll try to find a way to post a picture of it, alongside my brother's BC'ed Pentagon Elite, when it's finished. Thanks again!

Yes, and apparently I am STILL having problems with the picture host:mad:
I'll deluge you with pics!!!

For fixing my images. My host is being very uncommunicative...
