Thought it would look good and slow down the rusting. Took it completly apart and sanded everything! Lots of work. Used Casey=Birchwood cold blueing.

dang...what a smart idea.

Please let us know how it holds up.

Mine rusted before I got to use it....:p

I may take your idea and copy it for my kmg. the whole rusting thing is a little disconcerting

Odd, I haven't had a problem with rust on mine, but I do un a dehumidifyer in my shop..
Dammit, now people are tricking out their grinders with paint jobs and **** You guys are nuts! ;)

I was thinking of a racing stripe and 5 layers of clearcoat for mine...

Seriously, nice job. I'd like to see some better pics, without the glare, so I can get the full effect.
The pic just looks like a very slight blue tint. I know it looks better in person..
What say eh?

That looks good, I think you should have done some engraving and maybe some gold wire inlays first. :)

Don't paint them up too nice, or when you go to fit them together you'll have to get out the razior blades and start scraping away! I learned that on American Chopper. Somehow they don't seem to remember that something that fits nice pre-powder coat won't fit real nice post-powder coat!

That looks nice that way. I was going to suggest beadblasting it and then coating it, but that would probably give rust a REALLY fun place to hang out. What about just wiping it doown really good with Tuf-Cloth?

air brush it with gun coat camo-ed with with rrrr well that should do it :D
you'll still have to keep that baby oiled up but it does look nice..
