I hate rust. So, the first thing I do with a new ESEE is clean the blade with Dawn detergent to get all traces of oil off and then, hit it with the Blueing Pen.

I think the final result is nice looking, and, will help keep that blade looking showroom fresh longer.

Thanks for looking!

Where might one find these blueing pens? I've never heard of them.

BTW, I'm loving my paracord bracelet I ordered from you. It fits perfect!!!

You can find them at damn near every store that carries firearms accessories. Keep in mind these will not produce the real hot blueing protective barrier, but an acceptable alternative. Hot bluing is an intensive and meticulous process, but worthwhile to learn how to do. I'll try to find the link of the guy that did an amazing backyard hot blue.

I got mine at Gander Mountain. It is an outdoors store. The pen itself looks exactly like a Sharpie, but, has a blue cap, and, of course, a special elixer inside rather than blue or black ink.

Looks really good, thanks for the info. I need to play with one of those a little.

Cool.

This motivated me to try it on my 3.
It doesn't look quite as good on a black blade IMHO, but it is a sorta interesting effect.
The black on black, meens the logo and lettering only pop into view from certain angles.
I'll try and get some pics tommorow.

there's this little mom & pop shop, they only have a few locations, but if one is near you i bet you could find it there for a good price.

it's called Wal-Mart, but most people have never heard of it.

:p

Please do!!! I'm curious to see how it looks!!
If anyone has done it to a tan blade I'd like to see that as well!!!!

Looks good man!

I think Birchwood Casey makes those pens. You can buy cold blue at most Wal Mart stores as well.
