Hey guys, I'd really like to start blue-ing some damascus but, I'm not sure which kind to get. I understand that some types you can do right on your stove top (got one in the shop near good ventilation). Also, is there a place where I don't have to buy $100.00 or so dollars of these salts?

Just need more stuff to try and burn the rest of the shop down with.
:D

look at this J
by the pound maybe?

Has anyone tried this? How's it work and hold up? I couldn't find much information on it.

Do the Jantz salts just go black or can you get the brilliant blues?

Hey J ,IG has a real slick blueing setup...i dont know the name of the salts he is using, but im sure he will chime in ...but i can tell you it will send you running out of the smithy...the last time i blued a couple of blades with him the fumes got real nasty...and that's outside! just be careful brother...Oh bye the way...your blade on my bench is looking purty!:D

BEAUTY!!! Joe designed and ground me a blade that I'm gonna finish and then carry proudly. Hey Joe, how do you mark your blades. I hope it's an etch, I'd like both of our names on the knife. Either side by side or one side and the other. I'm adding to my small but, very cool collection. Too bad George has a job now.

By the way Tess said your sheath will be done this weekend. It looks really cool with that emu skin. Really cool.

J make sure it's not Black with a white stripe down the center,
he'll shoot it..or toss in into the forge and try to kill it. :D
