Looking for a blue tooth headset for my cell. Want to keep the price below $30 bucks. So far I've found:

Motorola MotoPure H12
Motorola H695
Motorola H500 and
Plantronics Explorer 360

Any suggestions or thoughts?

thx

I have a Motorola H700C in blue that I love. I've used it 10+ feet through a closet, 3 walls and a bathtub lol i was washing my hands in the bathroom sink. I dunno how much it was as i got it from a bud who works at verizon wireless but its amazing! I have a Motorola KRZR K1m but as of tomorrow i'll have a Samsung Alias.

I prefer the Jabra products.

I have not found a better bluetooth headset than a Jawbone, I have had mine for 2 years of daily use, it is incredible! bevore that I went through Moto's, Plantronics, and Jabra's and none lasted very long or worked well.

I have a Plantronics 510 that is pretty good and comfortable. The downside is the size. It is a little bulky in the hand, but the balance on the ear is good and doesnt look crazy when you are actually wearing it. It has good battery life though approx 4 days standby. I have not ever had it run out of juice while using it either. Not sure of the actual talk time though as if I am heavily using it, I will charge it that night. I had a Jabra BT8040 for a while as well, but did not find it to be very comfortable.

Edit: sorry, I didn't read your post well enough...none of the headsets i talked about are less than $30.00...I would recommend you spend more than that if you can. You need to be careful because you will get what you pay for when it comes to BT headsets. Sound / call quality, battery life, construction ,materials, and noise reduction are all sacrificed when you start getting into the lower price points.

Hope this helps.

absolutely love my Motorola H710. I use it all the time! Battery life is very good- probably charge it twice a month. Range is phenominal. I've left the phone in my bed room upstairs and routinely go downstairs to the kitchen or garage to grab a fresh beer... All without pausing the conversation. If you go to far, it'll get slightly staticy but IMHO at that point you're quite far away!

Oh, and their warranty service is top-notch. Originally had a H700 which stopped working. Called up their CS, and even though I no longer had proof of purchase, they said send it in and promptly replaced it with an upgraded model!

Honestly, at this price point, I would stick with wires. The sound quality is poor, and microphones are worse. Conversing with someone who has a cheap Bluetooth device is aggravating. It's like having all the background noise you don't want amplified, while the voice is diminished. My wife and I each got cheap Bluetooth devices and our problems were compounded when we spoke to each other. Much worse than our previous, corded earphones. Mine was Jabra, hers was Motorola. Background noise was horrible.

+100  This is the absolute truth. I've got the new Jawbone and it's amazing. Much better than anything else I've ever heard, and much better for those I'm speaking with on the other end. Their noise-cancelling technology is second to none--but it's not in everyone's price range.

I bought 2 off ebay for around $20.00 each a while ago and although I don't like bluetooth at all, they work excellently! I'll use it when on a long drive and they work fine even when the windows cracked, smoking a cig and going down the highway at 80mph.

Yup, I even use it while biking to and from work sometimes. Granted I have to keep the speed way down (no physical windscreen for mic), but as long as I do that haven't had any complaints about noise.

Thanks for the suggestions. So far I found an Emerson model that worked fine if you like hearing voices that sounded like Charlie Brown's teacher...

LG HBM Series - the ear hanger and I didn't get along well.

I ended up with a Plantronics 360 which is adequate at best. Thinking I may stick with the wires as RobbW suggested. Plantronics MX505-X1 seems to have good reviews.

We had Jabra wired headsets, but I cant get the bud to work in my ear.

Thanks again!

+1 for the Plantronics 510. My wife & I tried Motorola ones and didn't care for them. Got the 510's on a recommendation and like them a lot. Great sound. Since they ride on the back of the ear they are VERY secure.

+1 on the wire suggestion. I used to always forget to charge the bluetooth...

The wire I can just leave in the car, and it will always work.

Take care,

g

I just got a Jawbone 2 and am very happy with it.

I had a Samsung that lasted a long time, but was never had very good clarity. I just bought a Jabra that sucks in every way imaginable.

I'm thinking about picking up the Jawbone.
