Bluetooth headset

I know there was a post about this recently, but I went back through the entire section and couldn't find it. So here's another one...

I'm looking for a bluetooth headset but I don't really want to spend a lot (~$30) because the only time I'll be using it is in the car.

I don't even know where to begin to look or what to look for becuase I've never had a hands free device, wired or wireless.

Should I stay away from something like this and spend a little more? What about this one? Or should I just avoid ebay all together?

My requirements are that it be comfortable and light weight with decent battery life. Like I said, it'll rarely be used, but I don't want to get a piece of crap.

I'm using an LG VX8100, I know it's an older phone, but I really like it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Venture over to Cnet.com

They usually have some good info and reviews on gear like this.

I am looking at bluetooth headsets right now, mainly for the car as I am moving back to CA.

here is the one you had listed before but cheaper.
Buy.com has really good prices on them, and many of them have free shipping too, which makes it even cheaper. Check out the reviews too.
Newegg.com also has good deals too, and more reviews to look at along with buy.com and Cnet.
New egg has similar prices to buy.com, but usually without the free shipping.

It looks like you don't have to spend too much to get a good one. At least I am hoping so.

This is one of the thinngs where you get what you pay for. I have a Jawbone and it was about $80, but its the best one I have ever used. I have been in the cellular business since 84 so I have seen everything that has been out there just about. If its something your only going to use in the car and you want to get by for low $ get a good wired unit. They are a bit limiting but work really well. I suspect though, that if you try a better bluetooth unit you will be pleased with it, especially if you are on the phone a lot.

I have a Jabra that is either similar to or the same as the one linked to by the OP. I inherited because my wife had to have one, then decided it was annoying. It laid around for a while until my job put me on the road a lot more, which is usually the only time I use it. I've never had anyone say they couldn't hear me (which is usually the case anyway), but some of the quieter people I've had to call were hard for me to hear. I shove it in my pocket and forget about it when I'm not using it. I would have to baby some $80+ headset. The Jabra has taken the abuse, holds a charge for a long time and charges quickly.

The Jabra is comfortable, but I haven't been able to figure out how to make it comfortable for long periods (road trips) If I had to use one for several hours at a time, I would definitely shop around a lot more, but since my use is sporadic it isn't too bad.

Besides, I work in voc. rehab. and it doesn't always serve me to have the best of anything. I try to hide my GPS as much as possible. My iPod stays hidden, and on the odd chance that I can listen to it I use some black Sony ear buds. Luckily social work scale pay makes it easy to look low on funds.

Dear world,
Do you really need to wear these things all the time? You may be wearing a $1K suit, and using a $200 Bluetuth headset, but you still look like a street person mumbling around talking to yourself.
