Do any of the fine knifemakers who hang around here make a blunt tip safety type knife ala the Hinderer Rescue knife?

Started working as a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT and would like a nice new knife as I start this chapter.

Thanks.

You might want to take a look at spydercos ( and others ) with a sheepsfoot style blade.

Thank you J JohnWE for your Volunteer Firefighter/EMT service, we all owe you a debt of gratitude.

Totally agree with duramax duramax on the Spyderco.

Take a look at the Spyderco Autonomy, it was designed for the Coast Guard Rescue Swimmers.
It’s 100% rustproof, saltproof and in my personal use experience it still fires strong and hard at even -20f below.
Can easily be opened and used with heavy duty gloves on, even 5mm neoprene diving gloves.

If you haven’t already decided on one, or ever want to upgrade, keep this one in mind. They come in and out of stock fairly often and are very reasonably priced. Lots of our supporting dealers do carry them as well as other very well known non supporting dealers too.

Sign up for a back in stock notification email or text at those dealers, you’ll get one in no time.

If you buy direct from Spyderco, you will also get a discount for your professional service (ID and sign up required). Don’t freak out at the listed price, they go for about 55% of the listed price.

They come in both Black and Orange, however the black seems to be available much more often.

Thank you again for your service.

Here’s a picture of one of mine.

Thanks for the recco. I’ve opened an account at Spyderco and am waiting to hear from them about the availability of their “Assist FRN” rescue knife in orange or yellow. Based on their description It seems to fit my anticipated needs quite well.
